State of the Art Crate Pads

July 6th, 2010

With the help of a crate you can be assured of your dog’s safety when you leave him alone in the house. You don’t have to worry about him roaming the streets and getting run over by a car; or harming children and other people. Living in a crate can be boring for your pet, but you can make him comfortable by providing him with some toys that he can play with to entertain himself and enough food and water to keep him from getting hungry. Try to make the space comfortable. A dog crate pad on one side of the crate will provide him with a comfortable place to lie on.

Your pet’s dog crate should be kept clean. Because he might have to relieve himself inside the crate, the crate pad can get soiled very easily. Washing them often will keep the space from smelling and it will keep your pet happy and healthy. Choose materials that do not soil very easily. There are pet mats that are made of a state-of-the-art bacteriostatic material that helps them stay clean naturally.

Do you remember Leona Helmsley? She was known as the “Queen of Mean” who was sentenced to jail for tax evasion. She was also famous for leaving her billion dollar fortune to her dogs. Can you imagine how her dogs lived? They were probably the most pampered pooches in the world. They probably each had their own dog sofa and bed.

A dog sofa is just like any sofa except it’s smaller in size and made for dogs. The dog sofa could also serves as his or her bed. It is there for dogs to lounge around in. They would certainly enjoy it just like we do. Your dog might even turn into a couch potato if you get them used to those sofas.

Providing for a dog’s basic needs will make him happy. A happy dog is a better pet to have around than one who is not. Body language will tell a lot about how the dog is feeling. Dogs also use their voice to communicate, but his posture will tell you a lot about how he feels. A dog will usually be relaxed but when he senses some action, a happy dog will be quick to respond.

It is not difficult to keep a happy pet. His needs are very basic. He needs a safe place to sleep. Large dogs need large dog beds. He also needs a schedule that he can depend on. There is a time for play and exercise and he knows that at a certain time he can take a nap. He needs to be provided with a healthy diet. Most of all, he is happiest when he interacts with children or older humans.

Be aware of small details when choosing furniture to fill up your dog kennel. It may seem trivial but they can actually make a difference in your dog’s comfort. Dog beds are basic needs, but have you considered certain dog habits when you chose your dog’s bed? Did you choose your dog’s bed based on the color? Did you even think about the shape?

Dog beds come in different shapes for a reason. Before deciding on the right dog bed, watch your dog and pay attention to how he sleeps. Does he curl up when sleeping? He will most probably need a round nest. Does he stretch out? Then the conventional dog bed mattress should be your choice. Either way, make sure that your choice provides excellent insulation for cold weather.

Crypton dog beds

January 22nd, 2009

It was a hectic weekend that we had last week. We bought Crypton dog beds for our two bulldog puppies, and like babies they found it stressful to move from the “crib” to the big bed.

The “crib” was our queen-sized bed. We decided to buy our dogs their own beds because leg space was getting scarce; we can’t turn the dogs into leg pillows, right? They didn’t like the idea, though, of sleeping somewhere else other than our bed. We placed them into their beds, went to sleep, woke up around thirty or so minutes later to put the dogs back into their beds. That went on for about three times, until we finally gave up and put their beds on top of our bed.So much for doggie training.
