Like most other dog owners, you probably bring your dog to a professional for grooming. Even so, you will still need dog grooming supplies for home use. You will need shampoo and conditioner for when you give him a bath. You will need a dental gel, ear cleaners, etc, etc. Dogs with long mane might even need a spray coat to keep the fur smooth and shiny.

How do you choose your dog supplies? Just think of shampoos. There are several kinds that you will find in stores. There are tear-free shampoos to help protect your dog’s eyes during baths. Oatmeal shampoos are designed to soothe mildly irritated skin and ease itching. Natural shampoos are chemical-free and often include herbs to improve skin and coat. Medicated shampoos can be prescribed by a veterinarian to help dogs with allergies or other skin conditions. If you know your dog, you will know which one to choose.

Toy dogs are very popular these days. They have become more than just pets. Some people actually made them accessories. This is more likely due to Paris Hilton’s treatment of her own dog. Because of her there is a boom on sales of toy dogs as well as the growth of the pet grooming and sharpening industry.

The secret to any cutting instrument is in the sharpness. The more sharp the cutting edge the better and safer are the results. This holds true for pet grooming and sharpening industry also. With a sharp cutting instrument the cut occurs naturally. No force movements or uneven cuts.

Ensure Safe and Clean Cutting with Andis

Grooming your pet involves a lot of hard work. You need to bathe your pet regularly, using the right kind of shampoo to avoid any tangles and fleas. Giving them the right kind of diet is also important because it shows on their fur. Clip their nails and have them dewormed. These are just a few of the things you can do to make sure your dog stays healthy and beautiful.

Like humans, dogs also need to have their fur cut. A fur that is too long may cause tangles that are very hard to remove. The risk of getting fleas also becomes high if a person does regularly cut the dog’s fur. Detachable blade pet clippers can be beneficial because there are a lot of optional blades that can fit in it. An example would be the Andis clipper blades. These blades are chrome-plated and carbon-edged to ensure safe, clean cutting.

Grooming Your Dog

The physical state of a dog influences the way he feels and the way we look at our dogs as well. This is the basic reason why dog grooming is important. Around springtime all of the dog grooming ’salons’ are full of dogs with dirty, rough or greasy hair needing dog shampoo. A lot of them have nails that are too long to walk on and they have teary eyes and dirty ears. Obviously a dog that comes in this way has not been well taken care of all winter. After giving the dog a nice grooming, these dogs seem to have more life in them.

Another example is a dog whose hair has grown so long in front of his face that it blocks his eyes. This would make the dog feel threatened and he will naturally go on the defense as he cannot see well. This situation can actually affect other animals to the point where they become fearful of people and other animals and sometimes becoming aggressive. That is why it is important to keep your dog well groomed. This affects his temperament and how he deals with people and other animals.

Bad Hair Day

My favorite dog breed is the Newfoundland. They are a large breed of dog that can rival the size of the Great Dane. They look like a big St. Bernard except that their coat is one color. They traditionally come in black and chocolate brown. They also remind me of a small bear. That’s why I love them. The only problem I have with them is the constant grooming. If you don’t their shaggy coat will get all tangled. That’s why I always have stock of dog detangler spray and comb.

A dog detangler spray can work wonders on your dog. Just spray and untangle with your dog comb. If you have a bad case of tangled coat, you can always go to groomers and get your dog’s coat trimmed. The only downside to getting your dog trimmed is it’s expensive especially if you do it on a regular basis. That’s why it’s best to do your own grooming.

The physical appearance of a dog has an effect to his overall wellbeing. Like people who value personal hygiene, dogs have to be clean to be healthy. Thus, dog grooming is something every pet owner must never neglect. This is doubly vital if a dog lives outside the house or spends a lot of time outdoors.

Basic dog grooming includes shampooing, coat brushing, flea treatment, hair cut, nail cut, and teeth care. Grooming is not just a beauty session for your pet; it helps prevent illnesses such as skin diseases and parasitic infections. And since pets don’t sweat through their skin, pet fur trimming is also crucial to help maintain the right body temperature during hot weather.

The physical appearance of a dog affects the way he feels and also the way we look at him. A clean dog is, after all, a happy and healthy dog. Dog grooming is also important for his physiological and psychological wellbeing. If a dog is not properly groomed, there is a higher chance of showing bad behaviors like excessive barking.

Here are several benefits to good dog grooming:

~It keeps your dog healthy because it eliminates germs and dirt that he gets from playing outside
~It keeps a pet comfortable because bathing removes fleas and eliminates dry and itchy skin
~Trimming your dog’s nails prevents germs from accumulating under them and also prevents damages to your furniture.
~Brushing your dog’s hair keeps it shiny while occasional clipping makes him look nice and neat.

Owning pets entails some responsibility. It is like having a baby. You are responsible for the welfare of your pet. That’s why it is important to choose your pet correctly. For me, there is only one animal that I’m willing to take care of. It’s the dog. They are a loving creature, that doesn’t ask much. Basic responsibilities will include food and shelter, dog grooming, basic training, dog shots and your time.

Dog grooming is important. Brushing your dog daily is a great way to bond with your dog. Not only will your dog’s coat look better, he will smell better also. Proper grooming also will save you lots in medical bills. A major problem of dogs is skin disease. Daily grooming can prevent skin allergies which can lead to mites which can lead to very expensive medical treatment.

Nowadays, dogs especially toy dogs or the small dog breeds are pampered like infants. Pugs, Chihuahuas, Yorkshire Terriers and other diminutive dogs are taken cared of in a very human-like fashion. If babies have those tiny nail trimmers, dogs have their own cute pet nail trimmer also that costs approximately $4 to $22 depending on its mechanism. Dog clinics that used to be so plain looking now radiates a bright and happy ambience similar to a pediatric clinic.

If you think Victoria “Posh” Beckham is the total fashionista for humans, who then is the fashion-diva among mini-pooches? Who else but Tinkerbell! Obviously their lifestyle has changed remarkably as some now enjoy over-the-top luxuries like dog collars adorned with Swarovski crystals; dog coats encrusted with diamonds; harness coat made from mink material. Another trend that is gaining popularity is donning dogs with fashionable apparel crafted by famous designers and celebrities like Paris Hilton. So don’t be surprised when you stumble upon a dog in denim and tank top.
