pet car seat covers

June 26th, 2009

My family loves to go on out of town trips. For pet owners who often take their pets on car trips, we all know that the biggest problem is the mess in the backseat. Aside from our pet jumping all over the back seat, the paw prints and the crumbs are the ones that give me a headache. Fortunately we discovered that we could buy pet car seat covers to help keep our back seat free stains, prints and other dirt. We tried if last week when we took our pet to the park and so far all seems to look good.

The pet car seat covers wraps the car seats so that it is protected from dirt and other dog debris. There are different forms of pet car seat covers; some come in the form of a hammock and others are draped over the seats it like liners. This is a great way of ensuring that your car can be free of dirt and odor. Since we started using our pet car set cover, we had not had any problems. Our car is still as clean as it was since before we got our pet.

When we got a new puppy, we were totally unprepared. I never had a pet before. My husband who grew up with dogs hadn’t had one in 10 years. We decided to get our son a puppy. He has been saying “dog dog!!” for the last few months. So when we brought our little Pete home to meet our son, we were all excited. The next day we realized we needed some stuff for the puppy so we rushed to the nearby pet store for some pet supplies.

We had to buy a dog crate because the one Pete came in was old. We also needed a feeding bowl and some dog treats. We didn’t even have dog soap and shampoo. We also needed to get Pete a new dog collar. Fortunately, the store had everything. Their pet supplies were complete. Now all we need to do is to try to keep our son from terrorizing little Pete.

Pets love to sneak out especially when their master is out. It is important that you have pet doors at home. With this in your pet area, you’ll spend a worry-free day because you’re assured of your pet’s safety and security. Having a pet door also trains your dog or your cat to pee or do his thing only in his very corner. There’s no other part of the house he could go to and mess up.

Pet doors can be installed wherever you would comfortably want them. There are also so many materials, design and style you can choose from. The kind of pet door may vary on your pet’s size, personality and kind. You can have the rally tall and strongly built door for your naught and playful pet. cat scratching posts

June 19th, 2009

Cat is one of the family’s favorite pets however there are also people who dislike these feline creatures. In fact I have a friend who is terrified of cats especially newborn kittens. She didn’t know how or when her Ailurophobia (fear of cats) began. Whenever visiting a friend or a colleague, it became a habit for her to look around for any signs of cat presence. The moment she sees a stuff that is associated with cats like litter box, a cat house or cat scratching posts, she would immediately inform the house owner of her fear of cats.

Whenever she sees cats in photos or movies she always has goose bumps. When I asked her what’s her greatest fear, I was surprised to find out that finding newly born kittens in her linen cabinet would be her most horrible hair-raising experience. One thing that makes her scream on top of her lungs and scurry away is when a cat accidently brush past her legs. But when we asked her if she likes “Puss” in Shrek 3, she replied that it’s the only cat that she finds adorable.

They say that dogs are men’s best friend. We often heard stories wherein a dog saves his owner: from a fire, a burglar and so on. Long ago, dogs are used in farms, to shepherds sheep and cows. As time went by, the helper dog becomes the pet, someone to talk to, a confidante and eventually part of the family.

Nowadays, you’ll even see dogs and their owners exercising or doing yoga. You’ll see them wearing the same clothes. Sometimes you’ll see them peeking in their dog stroller being push by their owners. Dogs have really come a long way. We can even find specialty stores that offer many kinds of dog clothes; and dog salons that offer shampooing, nail clipping, massage, and spa. We can also see different sizes of dog foods in the market. This was created to make dog food more attractive for dogs.

pet nail trimmer

Nowadays, dogs especially toy dogs or the small dog breeds are pampered like infants. Pugs, Chihuahuas, Yorkshire Terriers and other diminutive dogs are taken cared of in a very human-like fashion. If babies have those tiny nail trimmers, dogs have their own cute pet nail trimmer also that costs approximately $4 to $22 depending on its mechanism. Dog clinics that used to be so plain looking now radiates a bright and happy ambience similar to a pediatric clinic.

If you think Victoria “Posh” Beckham is the total fashionista for humans, who then is the fashion-diva among mini-pooches? Who else but Tinkerbell! Obviously their lifestyle has changed remarkably as some now enjoy over-the-top luxuries like dog collars adorned with Swarovski crystals; dog coats encrusted with diamonds; harness coat made from mink material. Another trend that is gaining popularity is donning dogs with fashionable apparel crafted by famous designers and celebrities like Paris Hilton. So don’t be surprised when you stumble upon a dog in denim and tank top.

When you buy a new dog, you will need to buy new accessories as well. I had to buy at least two dog leashes for my new dog. I needed one for emergency in case it broke. My dog leashes were all cute, they were colorful and some even had prints. They kept my dog from getting lost. My dog didn’t really like being kept in a leash but he did not have a choice. I could not afford to lose him.

My dog loved roaming around. He hated his dog leashes but I could not take them out. My problem is that sometimes he would try to outrun me. I had trouble keeping up with him. He would purposefully run really fast and I could not keep up with him. It was very embarrassing, as if I needed more reminders that I was not fit and I needed to hit the gym.

designer dog crates

I have two bulldogs, Amber and Buster and I just totally adore them. Though it is hard and expensive taking care of bulldogs, the joy that they give were just all worth it. Even if you ask any bulldog lover, they’d surely say that no expense is too much for their bullie. That’s why I decided to get designer dog crates for my babies. They deserve the best.

Prior to getting the designer crates, Buster and Amber lived in traditional crates which I keep it my storage room near the kitchen because it was so unsightly. Now, they stay in the living room with a designer dog crate. From the moment the designer dog crates arrived, Buster and Amber never left it alone for the night. Buster and Amber like to play around them during the day. Someday when I get a third bulldog, I might have to get another dog carte.

bird pellets

June 5th, 2009

I have a pet parrot named May. When I first got her I fed her purely bird seeds. Later I realized that bird seeds is unhealthy for birds but more especially for parrots. I switched from bird seeds to bird pellets. Bird pellets provide a more balanced diet for your birds. Switching her from bird seeds to pellets is no easy task.

Since I started May on seed, switching to Bird Pellets took me a couple of weeks. I started with a 75 percent mix of bird seed and 25 percent bird pellets. After about 5 days, I made it 50 percent bird seed and 50 percent bird pellets. After another 5 days, I made it 25 percent bird seeds and 75 percent bird pellets. I fed her that for a week. Then I fed her mostly bird pellets with a couple of seeds. Today May eats only bird pellets.
