October 14th, 2009

There are many equipment that you need when you own a horse. You will need saddlery when riding and properly carding for an equine animal. The saddlery used on a horse is called tack. This may include bridles, saddles, halters, saddle pads, bits, cinches, stirrup leather, etc.

For each piece of tack you buy, you have to evaluate first your horse’s needs and activities. A first trip to the horse tack store will probably drain your wallet but rest assured that the expenses will lessen over time. Remember to ask for recommendations from other horse owners before visiting and browsing products in a horse tack store.

rolling dog carriers

October 13th, 2009

Most pet owners treat their pets as family. This is especially true for dog owners. A lot of dog owners treat their dogs as their babies. They even walk their dog in rolling dog carriers. Rolling dog carriers can look like suitcases with mesh sides so your dog can breathe and won’t be claustrophobic. Or it can look like baby strollers with a mesh cover.

Rolling dog carriers are a great idea. They are comfortable for your dog and will keep your dog safe from trouble. They can also be used to transport dogs in planes. Of course, dog carriers are only for small to medium size dogs. Bigger dogs should be transported using crates.

Dressage saddles

October 1st, 2009

In modern dressage competitions, successful training is demonstrated through performance tests of prescribed series of movements within a standard arena. Judges evaluate each movement on the basis of an objective standard appropriate to the level of the test and assign each movement a score from zero to ten. Zero means ‘not executed’ and 10 means “excellent”. A score of 9 is considered “very good” and is considered a particularly high mark, while a competitor achieving all 6s (or 60% overall) should be considering moving on to the next level. It is regarded as a time-honored tradition that encourages lightness, balance, and harmony between the rider and his horse

Dressage saddles are designed to help the rider sit deeply in the saddle and provide close contact with the horse. This allows the rider to cue the horse with precision. Dressage saddles have a deep seat and the flaps are cut straight. The pommel and cantle are lowered so that jumps will be safer and more comfortable. The flap’s angle was also adjusted so that the equestrian saddle could achieve a better position during the jump.

October 1st, 2009

One of the best places to bond with your dog is during your daily walks. Not only will you bond with your dog you and your dog will also get that much needed exercise. Another fun thing to do is bike with your dog. This is fun until you crash and do a face plant. That is why a bicycle dog leash is a good thing to have.

A bicycle dog leash will prevent the leash from tangling with your bike. There are different versions of it but the gist of it is the leash is attached to an instrument that is attached to a bike’s seat post. This will give you more control of your bike and prevent your dog from cutting you. With it, you can concentrate on biking and having fun with your dog.

insulated dog houses

October 1st, 2009

Sometimes sweaters and blankets are not enough to keep out pets warm. In areas where winter can really be nasty. Proper housing should be provided for dogs. Doghouses made of wood make comfortable insulated dog houses. It should be elevated to keep the floor dry. A burlap or canvas cover may also be placed over the dog house to provide more protection against the cold.

Additional precautions can also be taken to keep your pet from being exposed to extreme cold. Always check the temperature if you plan to take him out for a walk. Let him wear booties if he has to walk in snow. Dogs are also known to eat more in cold weather; be sure to give him more food than he normally eats. Don’t forget that nothing will keep him warm more than a good rub and a hug.
