Jeweled dog collars

March 8th, 2010

Emphasize how beautiful your dog is when you take her out for a walk. Have several jewelled dog collars ready to choose from and match one with her current outfit. These sparkling blings would definitely draw admiring eyes. Jeweled dog collars have become a fun way for pets to have a status symbol of their own.

These collars first became popular in Hollywood where movie stars get photographed with their dogs wearing jeweled dog collars. Since then, other dog owners who also love dressing their dogs up have followed suit. After all, you can always dress up your beloved pet any time for absolutely no reason at all except to make her look nice.

designer dog house

March 5th, 2010

Your dog deserves to live in a good home. It will keep him comfortable and warm during cold weather. These days, many dog owners prefer to have their dog houses customized to the individual needs of their dogs. A designer dog house also makes for a unique piece of furniture in your home.

Some of the best designer dog houses are insulated ones that come with their own style and charm. They are rugged but are easy to maintain. Choose one that provides year-round comfort, rot-resistant and high-impact resistant. A good dog house should also have a built-in drainage in the back floor for easy cleaning.

designer dog collars

March 5th, 2010

Your dog will need a collar on which to attach the leash. It is also where you can attach your dog’s ID tag. You will find a variety of dog collars in the market that will range from the traditional nylon or leather, to designer dog collars. Choose a collar that has a buckle so that you can adjust the fit. The width and lead should match the size of your pet. Small dogs will need lightweight choices while wider styles made of stronger materials are just the thing for bigger dogs.

This is not saying that you cannot indulge your dog with fancy styled dog collars. If you are taking your pet to a special event dress him up appropriately. You can get him one of those spiked collars that will make him look like a punk rock star. Just make sure that it will not harm him in any way. Maybe you can get into the picture and dress like a rock star yourself.

canine agility obstacle plans

March 3rd, 2010

Dogs make wonderful pets. They are the best companions in the world. Some breeds also are great athletes. Another popular activity that you can do with your dog is to have him join dog agility competitions. Just make sure you have the right breed. No use training your English bulldog to do dog jumps because they just won’t excel in it. They are stubborn and lack the physique to handle it. Now, if on the other hand you have Labs, Retrievers or any of the shepherd breeds you can excel in agility and jumping competition. You will just have to train your dog. You can start by looking at canine agility obstacle plans.

Even if you don’t plan to compete, having a canine obstacle course in your backyard can be beneficial to both you and your dog. For one, your dog will get his exercise. A spent dog won’t have time to ruin your couch, shoes or anything of value to you. Also, exercise can help limit your vet bills. An overweight dog will stress his hips too much. So what are you waiting for? Get some canine agility obstacle plans off the internet and start building.

Dog training

March 2nd, 2010

Dogs are marvelous creature as long as you get it trained. If not, they will become monsters. Dog training should be done as soon as you get your puppy. A younger dog is easier to train. On the other hand, do not get puppies less than 4 months old. If you do you’ll get lots of behavioral and health problems. The first training a pup gets is from its mother. Up to the 12 week, the mom will teach her pup how to behave and act towards humans. If you get a pup less than 12 weeks, they won’t have this training. That’s why it is best to avoid breeders who try to sell puppies younger than 12 weeks. They are more often puppy farms instead of legitimate breeders.

Now, let’s go onto dog training. The first training you get probably do is leash and collar training. It is the foundation of all training. Leash and collar training will allow you to control your dog. Do it as early as possible. Putting a leash on a 4 month old is easy as compare to a snarling two year old.

Arguably the most loved animal in the world is the horse. People and pet lovers can be divided into two categories, dog lover or cat lover. But both definitely are horse lovers. There are different breeds of horses. My favorites are the Clydesdale and miniature horses. To get more horse information on them, search the web.

Some horse information that can be found on the Clydesdale includes: ~Clydesdales are horses from Clydesdale, Scotland. ~They are massive horses measuring around six feet in height. ~Clydesdale horses are known for their strength, thus they are used primarily to pull heavy loads. In fact, they are best known for pulling a carriage in a beer commercial.

Cat toys

March 1st, 2010

Cat play can be beneficial both for the pet and the owner. It will be an affirmation of the bond between the pet and the owner. It can be a good chance to exercise, as well. Cat toys help control aggressive behavior while building confidence in a cat. It will help maintain a healthy weight while keeping the bones agile and the blood well circulated.

The idea of cat play for most owners is letting the cat run after a ball. Most cats will like this but it can get boring for them, too. Cats will also enjoy playing with “live” animals. Not living animals but toys that mimic live animals. Make them scuttle across the floor by dragging a toy lizard on a piece of string. They prefer to hunt so they enjoy toys that look like mice or that makes bird sounds. Hide these behind or under things. This will stimulate your cat more and provide them with more fun.
