The word ‘fashionista’ is no longer exclusive to men and women, straight or gay. It is so because pets like cats and dogs are also becoming fashion trendsetters nowadays. Aside from designer shirts or booties, dogs are now donning dog caps or bandannas. In fact some dog tags or dog collars are now encrusted with gems or bling-blings. Some pet shops even offer couture clothing for dogs that ranges from jammies, jackets to a more formal tux or lacy gown. We don’t really know who started this trend but so far it has become so popular in the US and other countries as well.
Gone are the days that dogs are just night patrols. Dogs are now treated like babies or a well-loved family member. Single men or ladies, empty nesters or retirees now rear pets as their closest companions. Thus it is no wonder why some pet owners and pets share the same fashion statement.
