Providing for a dog’s basic needs will make him happy. A happy dog is a better pet to have around than one who is not. Body language will tell a lot about how the dog is feeling. Dogs also use their voice to communicate, but his posture will tell you a lot about how he feels. A dog will usually be relaxed but when he senses some action, a happy dog will be quick to respond.
It is not difficult to keep a happy pet. His needs are very basic. He needs a safe place to sleep. Large dogs need large dog beds. He also needs a schedule that he can depend on. There is a time for play and exercise and he knows that at a certain time he can take a nap. He needs to be provided with a healthy diet. Most of all, he is happiest when he interacts with children or older humans.
