dog urns

January 29th, 2009

Our neighbor was crazy for his dog, Fido. I actually have seen Fido from the time he was a small puppy till he grew up to a big, burly but playful dog. I can understand why she was crazy over Fido. Despite his size (he was a Saint Bernard!), he was irrepressibly affectionate.

She was totally devastated when he died, but what happened after his death surprised me. Instead of having him buried in the pet cemetery and having an expensive tombstone put in his grave, she had Fido cremated and bought one of those dog urns to house his remains. I thought cremation was only for humans. Now that is total affection for a pet.
