Final Resting Place
Choosing an urn to keep the ashes of our loved one in is a very important decision. I still remember when my mother died and I was given this monumental task. There were a lot of funeral urns for me to choose from where we will keep the majority of my mother’s remains. I finally decided on a lovely ceramic jar that was colored white with some blue accents. This was where we kept my mother’s ashes for the funeral.
I also selected six small brass urns to distribute to my siblings. All of the urns contained some of the ashes of my mother. All of us created a shrine in our homes where we placed our urns in memory of our mother. My particular shrine contains a picture of my mother when she was still vibrant and young. This is how I want to remember my mother. I never forget to say a prayer for her everyday at her shrine.
