Clothing the Pet

Having a dog is one of the things that I love in my independent life. Growing up I was not allowed to keep a pet since my other siblings are allergic to fur. That is why when I got a job and finally moved out, the first thing I did was to buy myself a pup. Now that I have my own apartment I need not worry about having a pet that may be fatal to other people. He keeps me company all the time since I live by myself.

One of the things that my dog and I are into is doing some shopping. Aside from the fact that I need to regularly update my style, after buying a few things for myself I would then look for outfits for my dog. That way we can both be fashionably stylish even when we go out for walks. For winter I got him some dog sweaters that would match those cute boots I bought for him last month. The perfect outfit whenever we need to get out together! I just love having a pet!

Where to Shop for Dog Supplies

Part of the fun in having a pet dog is being able to do whatever you want with him. If your dog is small and cute it will be nice to dress him up in fashionable dog clothes. We are not talking here of sweaters that will keep them warm. Pomeranians, shih tzus and mini pinchers look lovely in cute dresses and tuxedos. You will even have them in designer clothes if they were not that expensive.

You can find all your supply needs in stores that offer all kinds of pet needs. They fill the shelves side by side doggie toys, gourmet food and accessories. Are you looking for a unique collar? There will be a whole display corner filled with different styles. If you need a leash to go with it, you will not have a problem getting one.

My Opinion on Dog Dresses

I get the impression that making the pet wear dog clothing is just a way of showing them off. Dog dresses are really cute. I have always marveled at how different kinds of designs for children can be made to fit a dog. We see dogs in overalls, spaghetti blouses and party dresses complete with bonnets and sashes. The more amazing thing is that dogs don’t seem to mind. But do they really have a choice?

I have always maintained that dogs should not be forced to wear dog dresses. To me, they are uncomfortable and prickly. At the risk of getting the ire of dog dress enthusiasts, I’d go to the extent of saying they are demeaning. But I take exception when it comes to sweaters and dog accessories that are supposed to warm up our pet’s little bodies. They are needed and should be taken advantage of.
