It is important that you have the right measurement in terms of width, height and rise. Determine the width by opening a door and having the pet walk through. Measure the gap and add an inch or two of allowance. Measure the rise by measuring the distance from the floor to the pet’s chest. This will be the distance from the floor to the bottom of the pet door. The height can easily be measured by measuring the dog’s tallest part, most probably the shoulder.
